The Country Parson - Father Jeff's blog.
A native of Scioto County, Fr. Jeff Queen was raised in South Webster and graduated from High School there in 1990. Fr. Queen then spent four years at Wilmington College earning a B. A. in Religion and Philosophy. He went on to further graduate study at Earlham School of Religion and United Theological Seminary, and received his certificate in Anglican Studies at Bexley Hall seminary.
During his time both in college and seminary, Fr. Queen served in various capacities of ministry from pastor in a rural yoked parish to assistant in a thousand-member suburban congregation in Cincinnati. In the Summer of 2002, Bishop Thompson appointed Jeff as founding vicar of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church.
In November of 1997, Fr. Jeff married Richelle Thompson. Ms. Thompson grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from Hanover College in 1994. After eight years as a journalist for papers such as the Dayton Daily News and the Cincinnati Enquirer, Richelle was made Director of Communications for the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio. Some of her responsibilities include editing The Interchange and publishing the diocesan website.
Jeff and Richelle currently have 2 children, Madeline Leslie, aged 6 years, and Griffin Thomas James, aged 3 years.
