Music at All Saints Church
All Saints Chancel Choir
As early as 1844, there was organ and choir music at All Saints’ Church. In 1898, a vested choir was introduced. At the 11:00 a.m. service of Holy Communion, you will still find the organist leading the adult choir and the congregation in worship through singing the great hymns of the faith and the Ordinary of the Mass. During the offertory, the choir presents an anthem reflecting the day's appointed scripture lessons or general theme. Vocal and instrumental soloists enhance our worship at special services throughout the church year and during summer months when the choir is on hiatus. To become involved or to learn how you can support the music ministry at All Saints’, contact Justin Wiget, Director of Music.
Meets: Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the choir room during the season
The adult choir participates each week during the season in the 11:00 a.m. choral service. Our season is from the middle of September through Trinity Sunday. The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The choir prepares anthems from a broad range of styles and traditions for presentation during the offertory. While some music experience is preferred, it is NOT a prerequisite for membership in the choir. The Director of Music may request a friendly audition from prospective members.
